Abdullah Al-Raiyan is a calm and gentle 8-year-old boy who is studying in Class Three. His father, Shamim Ahmed (40), works as a caretaker and earns only about 6,000 BDT per month, while his mother, Aysha Begum (35), is a housewife, making it very difficult for the family to afford medical treatment after meeting their basic household expenses. Following an injury, Abdullah suffered a fracture of his left wrist and was enrolled as a Helpster Charity patient (Case ID: 6788), through which he underwent surgery to insert a K-wire implant to stabilize the broken bone and ensure proper healing. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Redwan, whose support helped them access the treatment that would otherwise have been beyond their financial means. After successful healing, Abdullah required a second admission for the planned removal of the implant; without these procedures and follow-up care, he could have faced permanent wrist deformity, persistent pain, restricted hand movement, and difficulties with his education and daily activities.

Abdullah Al Rayyan was admitted to Sylhet Gastroliver Hospital on 02 July 2026 with complaints related to his previously operated left wrist (distal radius) fracture, including swelling of the left hand. He was admitted for the planned removal of the K-wire implant after follow-up examinations confirmed satisfactory fracture healing. During his hospitalization, he received wound dressing, medications, and supportive orthopedic care under the supervision of Dr. Md. Mostafezur Rahman. His condition improved well after treatment, and he was discharged on 03 July 2026 with medicines, wound care instructions, follow-up advice, and recommendations to avoid strenuous activities until full recovery. At the time of discharge, the patient's family expressed their sincere gratitude to the medical team at Sylhet Gastroliver Hospital and Helpster Charity for their support and care.

According to the treating orthopedic doctor, the child's prognosis is excellent as the fracture has healed satisfactorily and the K-wire implant is being removed as planned. With proper wound care, regular follow-up, and adherence to the recommended rehabilitation exercises, he is expected to regain full strength and normal function of his left wrist without long-term disability. He should avoid strenuous activities until complete recovery to prevent reinjury. If the implant is not removed as advised or follow-up care is neglected, the child may experience pain, stiffness, infection, reduced wrist movement, or other complications that could affect normal hand function.
