Riaz Ahmed is a hardworking and determined seven-year-old boy who is studying in Class 1 and hopes to continue his education despite his family's financial struggles. He lives with his parents and his elder sister, Sumaiya, in a family of four, where his father is the only earning member, working as an agricultural day laborer with a monthly income of approximately BDT 7,000, which is barely enough to cover food, education, and other basic necessities, leaving the family unable to afford the cost of hospitalization, investigations, and medicines. After learning about Helpster Charity through a staff member of Life Care Hospital, the family sought assistance in the hope of accessing the urgent treatment Riaz requires. Despite exhausting their limited resources, they cannot continue his treatment without financial support. Without timely treatment, typhoid fever and the urinary tract infection can lead to severe dehydration, bloodstream infection (sepsis), kidney complications, intestinal perforation, multi-organ complications, and other life-threatening conditions that could seriously endanger Riaz's life.

Riaz Ahmed was admitted to the hospital on 19 May 2026 after suffering from persistent fever for 15 days, along with cough, cold, and abdominal pain. Following a thorough medical examination and necessary diagnostic tests, doctors diagnosed him with typhoid fever along with a urinary tract infection (UTI). He received appropriate medical treatment, antibiotics, intravenous fluids, and close monitoring from the hospital's medical team. With timely treatment and continuous care, Riaz's condition gradually improved over the following days. He responded well to the medications, and his fever subsided while his strength and appetite gradually returned. He was discharged from the hospital on 23 May 2026 in stable condition. Riaz's family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital staff for their generous support and compassionate care, which played a vital role in his recovery.

With timely administration of appropriate antibiotics and supportive treatment, Riaz Ahmed’s typhoid fever and urinary tract infection (UTI) can be effectively controlled, leading to a gradual reduction in fever and relief from abdominal pain and other symptoms. Proper medical care, adequate hydration, and close monitoring will help restore his strength, improve his appetite, and enable him to return to his normal daily activities, including attending school. With prompt and appropriate treatment, the chances of a full recovery are very high. However, if left untreated, typhoid fever and the associated urinary tract infection can worsen, leading to severe dehydration, prolonged illness, intestinal complications, kidney involvement, or the spread of infection throughout the body. In severe cases, these complications can become life-threatening and have a significant impact on his overall health and development.
