When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Shristy, an 2-days-old child, is suffering from Acute Watery Diarrhea (AWD), a severe diarrhoea illness characterized by frequent watery stools and repeated vomiting. The excessive fluid loss has caused significant dehydration, leaving her weak and unable to eat or drink properly. Due to the risk of worsening dehydration and other serious complications, she requires immediate medical treatment, including oral rehydration therapy (ORS), intravenous (IV) fluids if necessary, and close medical monitoring.

Background
Shristy Rani is a precious two-day-old baby girl whose birth filled her parents and two elder sisters with joy and hope for a brighter future. Her father, Gonesh Roy, is the family's only earning member, working as a day laborer and earning only BDT 5,000 per month, making it impossible to afford the cost of emergency hospital treatment while meeting the family's basic needs. When Shristy suddenly developed severe acute watery diarrhea with repeated vomiting, she quickly became dangerously weak and dehydrated, leaving her frightened parents desperate to save her life. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Sadika Rahman, giving them hope during this critical time. Without immediate treatment, severe dehydration can rapidly lead to shock, kidney failure, unconsciousness, and even death, placing this newborn baby's life in immediate danger.
Medical history
Shristy Rani , is a 2-day-old child, was admitted on 28.06.26 with Acute Watery Diarrhea (AWD), dehydration, and repeated vomiting. She received appropriate treatment, including rehydration therapy and medications, and was discharged on 2.07.26 after making a good recovery. Her family sincerely thanks the Helpster donors for their generous support.
Prognosis
With prompt and appropriate medical treatment, including oral rehydration therapy (ORS), zinc supplementation, and intravenous (IV) fluids if required,Shristy's prognosis is highly favorable. She is expected to recover completely without any long-term health complications. However, if timely treatment is delayed or not provided, the ongoing diarrhoea and vomiting can rapidly lead to severe dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, hypovolemic shock, acute kidney injury, seizures, or even death. Therefore, immediate medical care and close monitoring are essential to prevent these life-threatening complications.
