About urology
Md. Ishan Ali has been diagnosed with phimosis associated with a urinary tract infection (UTI). Phimosis is a condition in which the foreskin is too tight to be pulled back properly, causing pain, swelling, and difficulty passing urine. As his condition worsened, he developed fever, painful urination, a weak urinary stream, and inflammation of the foreskin due to infection. Because of the severity of his symptoms, he required emergency medical treatment, including antibiotics and urgent circumcision, to relieve the obstruction, treat the infection, and prevent further complications.

Background
Md. Ishan Ali is a cheerful and innocent 3-year-old boy whose smile brings joy to his parents and the other members of their family living in a small rented house in the Bihari Camp. His father, Md. Zubair Ali, earns only about 9,000 BDT per month as a day laborer, supporting Ishan, his mother Reshma Akter, and the rest of their five-member family, leaving them unable to afford emergency medical treatment. When Ishan developed tight phimosis with a urinary tract infection, he suffered severe pain while urinating, high fever, and increasing difficulty passing urine, causing great concern for his parents. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp in Geneva Camp, which gave them hope when they had no financial means to save their son. Without urgent treatment, Ishan could have developed complete urinary blockage, worsening infection, kidney damage, and potentially life-threatening complications, putting his health and future well-being at serious risk.
Medical history
With Helpster’s support, Md. Ishan Ali was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital on July 2, 2026, suffering from severe pain and a high fever caused by tight phimosis and a urinary tract infection. Doctors first used intravenous antibiotics to stabilize his condition, then successfully performed an urgent circumcision that same day to relieve the blockage. After a smooth recovery, he spent a total of two days in the hospital before being discharged on July 3, 2026. He went home with a post-discharge care plan consisting of oral antibiotics, pain relief syrups, and an ointment to protect the wound site. The treatment worked perfectly, drastically reducing his risk of serious complications and leaving him completely free from pain so he can now urinate normally and recover comfortably at home.
Prognosis
According to Dr. Nasim Tanver, urgent circumcision and antibiotic therapy were required to treat Md. Ishan Ali's tight phimosis and associated urinary tract infection. This vital care has significantly improved his life by removing severe urinary pain, restoring a normal urinary stream, and eliminating the active infection. With this timely surgical intervention, the risk of serious complications has been dramatically reduced, and he is expected to make a full recovery at home following his successful procedure. If he had been left untreated, the severe urinary blockage and spreading infection could have led to permanent bladder damage or life-threatening kidney complications.
