Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About bones & joints

A fracture of the right forearm means that both of the long bones in the child's right lower arm have broken due to an injury or fall. This condition usually causes severe pain, swelling, tenderness, visible deformity, and difficulty or inability to move the affected hand properly. Because the bones are broken, the child may not be able to perform normal daily activities and may experience significant discomfort.

Background

Anam Uddin is a bright and determined 8-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a doctor and is dearly loved by his parents and two older brothers. His father, a low-income hotel employee, is the sole earning member of the family, and his limited income is barely enough to cover food, education, and other daily expenses, making the cost of surgery completely unaffordable. After a serious fall, Anam broke his right arm and urgently needs surgery to recover properly. Without timely treatment, he could suffer permanent disability, making it difficult to write, play, attend school, and pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. His parents learned about Helpster Charity from volunteer Tamjid Md. Muktadir during a medical outreach program at Kutupalong, giving the family hope that Anam can receive the treatment he urgently needs despite their financial hardship.

Medical history

Anam Uddin, an 8-year-old boy, was admitted to Orion Hospital on 05.07.2026 through Helpster volunteer Md. Younus after sustaining a serious fracture to his right forearm following a fall. He was diagnosed with fractures of both forearm bones and underwent successful surgery, followed by appropriate post-operative care and monitoring. After seven days of treatment, he was discharged in stable condition on 12.07.2026 with medications and follow-up advice. The entire cost of his treatment was covered by Helpster Charity, and his family sincerely thanks Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for giving Anam a chance to recover and return to a healthy childhood.

Prognosis

Doctors have advised admission for close monitoring, pain management, detailed evaluation, and surgical fixation of the broken bones under anesthesia, followed by postoperative care and rehabilitation. With timely surgery, proper immobilization, physiotherapy, and regular follow-up, Anam has a very good chance of achieving complete bone healing and regaining normal function of his right arm without long-term disability. However, if the condition remains untreated, it may result in improper bone healing, permanent deformity, restricted movement, chronic pain, nerve or blood vessel complications, severe functional impairment, and in complicated cases may lead to serious health consequences or even death.
