About pregnancy
Morzina Khatun has been diagnosed with a post-dated single viable pregnancy. This means that although the baby is alive, the pregnancy has continued beyond the expected due date, increasing the risk of complications such as reduced placental function, fetal distress, meconium aspiration, prolonged labor, and the possible need for emergency delivery. Therefore, she requires close medical supervision and timely obstetric intervention to ensure a safe delivery and the best possible outcome for both mother and baby.

Background
Morzina Khatun is a resilient 35-year-old mother who lives with her husband, their 9-year-old son Miraj, and her elderly mother-in-law in a family of four. Her husband is the family's only earning member, working as an agricultural day laborer with a monthly income of approximately BDT 5,000, which is barely enough to cover food and other basic necessities, leaving the family unable to afford the cost of hospitalization, delivery-related treatment, medicines, and investigations. After learning about Helpster Charity through a staff member of Life Care Hospital, the family sought assistance in the hope of accessing the urgent medical care Morzina requires. Despite exhausting their limited resources, they cannot continue her treatment without financial support. Without timely treatment, a post-dated pregnancy can lead to fetal distress, reduced placental function, meconium aspiration, prolonged or obstructed labor, stillbirth, and other life-threatening complications that could endanger both the mother and her baby.
Medical history
Morzina Khatun was admitted to the hospital on 03 June 2026 with a post-dated pregnancy requiring a safe delivery. Based on the doctor's assessment, she successfully underwent a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS), resulting in the safe delivery of a healthy baby. She received postoperative medicines, antibiotics, and supportive care, and both mother and baby recovered well during their hospital stay. Morzina was discharged in stable condition on 06 June 2026, and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, its volunteers, and the medical team for making the safe delivery possible.
Prognosis
The doctors have recommended a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS) to ensure the safe delivery of Morzina Khatun’s baby and to protect both mother and child. With timely surgical intervention and proper medical care, there is a high chance of a safe delivery, allowing Morzina to recover gradually and care for her newborn and family. This planned procedure will help reduce the risks associated with her post-dated pregnancy, ensuring that the baby is delivered safely and remains stable. However, if appropriate treatment and delivery management are not provided, serious complications may arise, including fetal distress, reduced placental function, meconium aspiration, prolonged or obstructed labor, and other delivery-related risks. In severe cases, these complications can become life-threatening for both the mother and the baby. Therefore, timely medical care and proper intervention are essential to ensure the best possible outcome, safeguard the lives of both mother and child, and give the baby a healthy start to life.
