Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pregnancy
Aklima Begum, at 37+ weeks of pregnancy, has been diagnosed with severe oligohydramnios with breech presentation, a critical condition where the baby is positioned feet or pelvis first and there is very little amniotic fluid. This combination greatly increases the risk of fetal distress, umbilical cord compression, and complications during delivery. Without an urgent cesarean section, both the mother and baby face life-threatening danger. Timely medical intervention is essential to ensure a safe delivery and protect their lives.

Background
Aklima Begum is a 24-year-old mother who dreams of safely welcoming her third child and building a healthy future with her husband, Ilias, their 8-year-old daughter Fatema, 3-year-old son Al Amin, and mother-in-law Rizia Begum. Her husband is the family’s only earning member, making approximately BDT 9,000 per month as a daily laborer, which is barely enough for their five-member household and leaves them unable to afford an emergency Caesarean delivery. At 37+ weeks, an attempted home delivery failed, and hospital evaluation revealed breech presentation, severe oligohydramnios, and fetal distress, placing the unborn baby at immediate risk. Without an urgent Caesarean section, the baby could suffer severe oxygen deprivation, birth injury, brain damage, or death, while Aklima could also face serious complications from prolonged or obstructed labor. With no financial means for emergency surgery, Helpster Charity’s support is essential to protect both mother and baby and give the newborn a safe start to life.
Medical history
After experiencing, labour pain for 18+ hours and leaky membrane for 1 day , she arrived at our hospital at 07.00AM in 02nd june 2026 and doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed breech presentation with amniotic fluid is very low with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful male baby. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 11.30AM in 05th june 2026.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.
Prognosis
Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) is a life-saving procedure for Aklima Begum in this condition. With timely surgery, the baby can be delivered safely, reducing the risk of oxygen deprivation and preventing further complications for both mother and child. After the operation, Aklima is expected to recover well with proper care, and her baby has a strong chance of being healthy and stable. However, if left untreated, severe oligohydramnios with fetal distress can quickly become life-threatening. The baby may suffer from severe oxygen shortage, which can lead to stillbirth or long-term complications, while the mother may also face serious risks during prolonged or complicated labor. Immediate surgical intervention is therefore crucial to save both lives.
