Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pregnancy

Munia Akter has been diagnosed with 38+ weeks of single viable pregnancy with oligohydramnios and breech presentation with fetal distress. The presence of oligohydramnios, which is a dangerously low level of amniotic fluid, is a significant concern as it can put the baby at risk for complications like umbilical cord compression. Compounding this, the is in breech presentation , which makes her current delivery more complex and necessitates C-section. This combination of factors requires close medical supervision to ensure the safety of both the mother and the baby.

Background

Munia is a kind and hopeful 24-year-old woman who dreams of becoming a loving mother and building a happy future with her husband, Nur Uddin. Her husband earns only BDT 8,000 per month as a daily wage laborer and is the sole provider for the family, supporting Munia, her parents Ferdous and Jalal Mallik, and her younger brother Yasin, making the cost of emergency surgery and hospital care impossible to afford. After an otherwise healthy first pregnancy, Munia developed prolonged leakage of amniotic fluid, and doctors found severe oligohydramnios, breech presentation, and fetal distress, placing both mother and baby in immediate danger. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a community miking campaign, giving them hope during this life-threatening emergency. Without an urgent caesarean section, the baby could suffer severe oxygen deprivation, birth injury, permanent disability, or stillbirth, while Munia herself could face life-threatening complications during labor, devastating a family eagerly awaiting the birth of their first child.

Medical history

After experiencing, passage of gush of water and leaky membrane for 18hr, she arrived at our hospital at 09.00AM in 04th june 2026 and doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed amniotic fluid is very low with breech presentation with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful female baby. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 07th june 2026.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

Prognosis

The doctor's prognosis is that an immediate cesarean section is a crucial, life-saving intervention. The patient's history of premature rupture of membranes, severe oligohydramnios and breech presentation with fetal distress. puts both the mother and baby at significant risk. The lack of amniotic fluid can lead to the umbilical cord becoming compressed, which can cut off the baby's oxygen supply and lead to fetal distress, irreversible brain damage, or stillbirth. Without the immediate surgical delivery, the risk of a tragic outcome for the baby is high. The C-section, while a major surgery, offers the best chance to bypass these life-threatening complications and ensure a safe and healthy start to the baby's life.
