Rima Begum is a gentle 3-month-old baby girl from a poor family struggling to survive on her father Jaber Ahmed's income of only 6,000 BDT per month as a day labourer. She lives with her parents, grandparents Islam Uddin (70) and Softera Begum (55), and her uncle Yamin Hussain (19), who also works as a day labourer, but the combined family income is still insufficient to cover both daily necessities and medical expenses. When Rima developed a cold, cough, fever, and severe breathing difficulties, her condition rapidly became critical, causing her to cry excessively and struggle for breath, yet her family could not afford the hospitalization and treatment she urgently needed. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteers Redwan and Tanjila Shahin Ema, who guided them in seeking support for Rima's care. Without timely treatment, severe pneumonia could have led to worsening breathing problems, serious infection, and life-threatening complications, putting the life of this young infant at grave risk.

Rima Begum was admitted to Seba Hospital on 07 July 2026 with severe pneumonia after suffering from cold, cough, fever, breathing difficulty, and a blocked nose for several days. As her condition gradually worsened, her family sought urgent medical care and she was admitted for treatment. During her hospitalization, she remained under close observation and received medicines, oxygen support, fluids, and regular care from the doctors and nurses. Her condition gradually improved with treatment, and she was discharged on 14 July 2026 with medical advice and follow-up recommendations. At the time of discharge, the patient's family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema and the Seba Hospital team for their support and dedicated care during her treatment.

According to the treating physician, Rima Begum required hospitalization because severe pneumonia was causing persistent fever, cough, breathing difficulties, nasal blockage, and significant distress at a very young age. With timely treatment, medications, supportive care, and close monitoring, the lung infection is expected to improve, her breathing will become easier, and she can continue to grow and develop normally. Early medical care will also help prevent the infection from spreading and reduce the risk of serious complications. However, if left untreated, severe pneumonia can rapidly worsen, leading to severe breathing problems, poor feeding, severe infection, and other life-threatening complications
