Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Dennis is an eleven-year-old boy known for his jolly nature and love for playing games, especially football. His favorite player is Erling Haaland, and he enjoys emulating him while playing with his friends. Known for his respectfulness and humility, Dennis often helps his mom with household chores in his spare time. He dreams of becoming a doctor one day. Up until last week, Dennis was in good health. However, he recently began experiencing joint pain, fever, and sweats. The onset of pain while swallowing prompted him and his family to seek medical attention.

Medical history

Denis was well until last week when he started having joint pains, fever and sweats. He also began feeling some painful sensations when swallowing anything which led them to seeking medical attention. Denis was first examined by the Doctor on duty who sent him to the laboratory for some tests to ascertain what he is suffering from. He was diagnosed to be suffering from Malaria and Acute Tonsillitis. He was put on antimalarial drugs and antibiotics to curb his illness. The medication worked well on him and he got healed.

Prognosis

Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences. Enlarged tonsils can trap bacteria and viruses, leading to recurrent throat and ear infections. These infections can cause discomfort, pain, and may require repeated courses of antibiotics. An adenotonsillectomy is a medical procedure in which both the adenoids and tonsils are surgically removed. The adenoids are small glands located at the back of the throat, while the tonsils are situated on either side of the throat.
