Mark had a fever a few days ago, associated with loss of appetite, vomiting and a severe headache, and this prompted his teachers to bring him to the hospital. He was diagnosed with malaria and treated as an outpatient. The treatment enabled him to resume his class well.
Prognosis
The infection should be treated immediately, since it may spread onto kidneys, if left untreated. It will also keep causing pain and discomfort if the treatment is not received. Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences.
