Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Brighton was diagnosed with Malaria and Pneumonia. Malaria is a potentially life-threatening infectious disease caused by parasites transmitted to humans through the bite of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. Once inside the human body, the parasites multiply in the liver and then infect red blood cells, causing recurrent cycles of symptoms, including high fever, chills, fatigue, and, in severe cases, organ damage or failure. This stage of the disease is defined by the evidence of vital organ dysfunction. Pneumonia develops when the defensive mechanisms within the lung become overwhelmed by a pathogen which has been either inhaled or aspirated. It is associated with a high mortality rate and significant morbidity. Severe pneumonia is frequently a multisystem disease and patients will often present with multiple organ failure.

Background
Brighton comes from a humble family with no means of subsistence. He is a big footbal fan and likes to read novels. He dreams of becoming an engineer. Two days ago, Brighton felt unwell, with fever, headache, cough, chest and abdominal pain. The school clinic felt that his case required careful medical attention and he was referred to our facility.
Medical history
Two days prior to being brought to the hospital, Brighton felt unwell, with fever, headache, cough, chest and abdominal pain. He was brought to the hospital looking quite frail and weak. He was immediately attended to and after review from the doctor, sent to the laboratory for investigations. After diagnosis of severe malaria was made, he was admitted and managed as an in-patient
Prognosis
Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences. Pneumonia should be treated with antibiotics. If left untreated, pneumonia may lead to the permanent lung damage, respiratory failure, septicaemia (infection entering blood stream and causing sepsis), pleural effusion (accumulation of fluid in the space between the lung and chest wall, which can make breathing difficult), and other life-threatening complications.
