Janifa Zinat T., 6

Janifa is a 6-year-old girl who lives happily with her parents and grandparents in a tin shed house in Narayanganj. She goes to school nearby and is in class one. Janifa is a bit shy and enjoys drawing pictures. Her family relies on her father, who is the only one working to support them. Suddenly, Janifa started experiencing abdominal pain. The doctors at the clinic diagnosed Janifa with Acute Appendicitis, which means she needs to have an operation called appendicectomy to remove her appendix. However, her family is facing financial difficulties and cannot afford the cost of this treatment. They recently learned about Helpster Charity and the Polyclinic from another patient who was also treated there. Janifa's family is now seeking help from generous donors through Helpster Charity.

Janifa was diagnosed with acute appendicitis, characterized by severe abdominal pain and vomiting. Emergency appendectomy surgery was necessary to remove the inflamed appendix. Despite complications due to adhesions between abdominal structures, the operation was successful. Janifa has since recovered and resumed her normal activities. Dr. Munna, the MD and Director of Narayanganj Polyclinic, visited Janifa's home to check on her progress. Janifa was feeling well, with her wound healing properly. The entire family expressed their happiness and gratitude for Janifa's recovery. Janifa’s mother, Nusrat Jahan Alo, expressed her gratitude for Helpster Charity, which provided funding for Janifa's treatment. If appendicitis is not treated, it can lead to serious complications, the most severe being a ruptured appendix. When the appendix ruptures, it releases bacteria into the abdomen, potentially leading to a serious infection called peritonitis, which can be life-threatening. An abscess, which is a pocket of infection, may also form. Treatment for appendicitis usually involves surgery to remove the appendix, a procedure known as an appendectomy.
