Mostakima is a kind and resilient 14-year-old Rohingya girl who lives with her widowed mother and eight siblings in the Kutupalong Refugee Camp, helping with household chores while hoping for a better future. After the death of her father, the family lost its only breadwinner and now survives almost entirely on World Food Programme food assistance, leaving them unable to afford the cost of hospitalization, medicines, diagnostic tests, and ongoing treatment. After learning about Helpster Charity during a medical outreach program at Kutupalong, her family sought assistance in the hope of restoring Mostakima's health. Despite their best efforts, they have no savings and no access to nearby government medical facilities that can provide the necessary care. Without timely treatment, enteric fever with a urinary tract infection may progress to severe dehydration, intestinal bleeding or perforation, bloodstream infection (sepsis), kidney infection, multi-organ failure, and other life-threatening complications that could permanently affect her health or even result in death.

Mst. Mostakima, a 14-year-old girl, was admitted to Orion Hospital on 15.07.2026 through Helpster volunteer Md. Younus with fever, vomiting, weakness, loss of appetite, and painful urination. Following clinical evaluation and laboratory investigations, she was diagnosed with enteric fever with a urinary tract infection (UTI) and received inpatient treatment, including close monitoring, medications, supportive care, and nutritional support. She remained hospitalized for five days and was discharged on 20.07.2026 in stable condition with medications, dietary advice, and follow-up instructions. Her treatment was fully supported by Helpster Charity, and her family sincerely thanks Helpster, volunteer Md. Younus, and the doctors, nurses, and staff of Orion Hospital for their compassionate care and generous support.

The recommended treatment is hospitalization with parenteral (intravenous) antibiotic therapy and supportive care to control the enteric fever and urinary tract infection, prevent the spread of infection, maintain hydration, and monitor for complications. With timely treatment, proper nutrition, and regular medical follow-up, Mostakima is expected to recover fully, regain her strength, and return to her normal daily activities. If left untreated, the infections may progress to severe dehydration, intestinal bleeding or perforation, kidney infection, bloodstream infection (sepsis), multi-organ failure, and other life-threatening complications that could result in permanent disability or even death. Early hospitalization and appropriate antibiotic therapy are essential to ensure a safe recovery and prevent these serious outcomes.
