Mohammad Akram is a hardworking and talented 19-year-old Forcibly Displaced Myanmar National (FDMN) living in a Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh. He loves playing football and is known among his friends for his skill on the field, but his dreams have been overshadowed by the harsh realities of displacement and poverty. Following the death of his father, the family's only breadwinner, Akram's widowed mother and nine siblings were left without any source of income and now depend entirely on World Food Programme (WFP) assistance for survival, making medical treatment completely unaffordable. When he developed enteric fever with severe weakness and low back pain, his condition gradually worsened, leaving him unable to carry out daily activities and adding further hardship to his struggling family. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Md. Younus, who became their source of hope during this difficult time. Without timely treatment, enteric fever could lead to severe dehydration, intestinal complications, widespread infection, and other life-threatening consequences, putting Akram's life and the well-being of his vulnerable family at serious risk.

Mohammed Akram, a 19-year-old Forcibly Displaced Myanmar National (FDMN), was admitted to Orion Hospital on 13 July 2026 through Helpster volunteer Md. Younus with fever, vomiting, low back pain, weakness, and loss of appetite. After clinical evaluation and investigations, he was diagnosed with Enteric Fever with Low Back Pain (LBP) and received inpatient treatment, supportive care, nutritional support, and close medical monitoring. His condition gradually improved during hospitalization, and he was discharged in stable condition on 20 July 2026 with medications and follow-up advice. The treatment costs were fully covered by Helpster Charity, and the family sincerely expresses their gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their compassionate support and care.

The recommended treatment includes appropriate antibiotics, fever management, adequate hydration, nutritional support, pain management for low back pain (LBP), and close medical follow-up. According to the treating physician, timely treatment is expected to control the enteric fever infection, reduce fever and weakness, relieve low back pain, and help Mohammad Akram gradually regain his strength and return to his normal daily activities. With proper medications, nutrition, and follow-up care, he has a good chance of making a full recovery without long-term complications. However, if left untreated, enteric fever can spread throughout the body and lead to severe dehydration, intestinal bleeding or perforation, overwhelming infection, and damage to vital organs.
