About pregnancy
Joty Rani has been diagnosed with a 37-week single viable pregnancy with breech presentation. This means that the baby is alive and developing but is positioned with the buttocks or feet facing downward instead of the normal head-down position. Breech presentation at this stage of pregnancy may increase the risk of complications during delivery and requires careful obstetric planning to ensure a safe birth. Close monitoring and timely delivery planning are essential to ensure the safety and well-being of both the mother and her baby.

Background
Joty Rani is a resilient 18-year-old woman who lives with her husband and elderly father-in-law in a family of three, remaining hopeful despite their difficult circumstances. Her husband is the family's only earning member, working as a barber with a monthly income of approximately BDT 7,000, which is barely enough to cover food and other daily necessities, leaving the family unable to afford the cost of hospitalization, surgery, medicines, and delivery-related care. After learning about Helpster Charity through a staff member of Life Care Hospital, the family sought assistance in the hope of ensuring a safe delivery for both mother and baby. Despite exhausting their limited resources, they cannot continue her treatment without financial support. Without timely treatment, a breech pregnancy can result in obstructed labor, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth injury, severe bleeding, stillbirth, and other life-threatening complications that could endanger both Joty and her unborn baby.
Medical history
Joty Rani was admitted on 23 June 2026 at 37 weeks of pregnancy due to breech presentation, requiring close monitoring and a planned Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS). The surgery was successful, and she safely delivered a healthy baby. After receiving post-operative care, medications, nutritional support, and close monitoring, both mother and baby recovered well and were discharged in stable condition on 26 June 2026. Joty and her family sincerely thank Helpster Charity, its dedicated volunteers, and the medical team for their timely financial assistance, compassionate care, and support, which ensured a safe delivery and a healthy future for both mother and child.
Prognosis
Doctors have recommended a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS) along with supportive treatment and close monitoring to safely manage Joty Rani's 37-week pregnancy complicated by breech presentation and to ensure the best possible outcome for both mother and baby. With timely surgery and appropriate medical care, there is a strong chance of a safe delivery and gradual recovery, allowing Joty Rani to return home and care for her newborn. The treatment will help minimize the risks associated with breech presentation while enabling doctors to closely monitor the baby's condition throughout the delivery. However, if proper treatment and timely delivery are delayed, serious complications such as difficult labor, fetal distress, umbilical cord complications, reduced oxygen supply to the baby, and other life-threatening risks for both the mother and baby may occur.
