Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

The infection targets the liver and red blood cells, typically triggering acute symptoms like high fevers, shaking chills, and flu-like illness. Sepsis is a life-threatening medical emergency that occurs when the body's immune system overreacts to an infection, triggering a dysregulated response that damages its own tissues and organs.

Background
Toju is a bright, energetic 5-year-old boy who loves to play with his friends and always looks forward to mealtimes. He lives with his family in the waterside community of Makoko, Lagos, where access to consistent healthcare remains a daily challenge. Toju was brought to a medical outreach in Makoko after his family noticed he had become unusually unwell. He was suffering from persistent teeth pain and cavities, a troubling cough, fever, itching all over his body, and catarrh. His worried parents sought help at the outreach, hoping for relief for their son. He was referred to our facility for further evaluation. Our medical team carried out investigations and diagnosed him with Malaria and Mild Sepsis, conditions that can escalate quickly in young children if untreated. Prompt medical attention was essential to protect his health. Toju was evaluated and started on appropriate medications to treat both the malaria and the sepsis. With consistent monitoring and proper treatment, his condition began to improve, highlighting the urgent need for accessible healthcare for vulnerable children in Makoko.

Toju is a 5 year old boy that loves to play and eat. He was brought at a medical outreach at Makoko sick. TEETH PAINS & TEETH CAVITITES, COUGH FEVER ITCHING OF THE BODY CATARRH He was referred to our facility where we did investigations and diagnosed him with Malaria and Mild Sepsis. Prognosis
Toju, a 5-year-old boy, presented at our Makoko outreach with teeth pain and cavities, cough, fever, itching of the body, and catarrh. Investigations confirmed Malaria and Mild Sepsis, a combination requiring urgent attention in young children. This dual infection can progress rapidly to severe anemia, acute kidney injury, or respiratory distress as infected blood cells obstruct capillaries. Delayed treatment risks cerebral malaria or septic shock, potentially causing multi-organ failure or dangerously low blood pressure. With prompt hospitalization and intravenous therapy, prognosis for a child in Toju's condition is generally excellent, with survival rates exceeding 90 percent. Toju responded well to timely treatment.
