Munni Akter is a resilient 22-year-old mother who lives with her husband, their 2½-year-old daughter Farjana Islam, and her parents in a family of five, doing her best to care for her family despite their difficult circumstances. Her husband is the family's only earning member, working as a garment worker with a monthly income of approximately BDT 8,000, which is barely enough to cover food and other basic necessities, leaving the family unable to afford the cost of emergency hospitalization, surgery, medicines, and delivery-related care. After learning about Helpster Charity through volunteer Masud Rana, the family sought assistance in the hope of ensuring a safe delivery for Munni and her unborn baby. Despite exhausting their limited resources, they cannot continue her treatment without financial support. Without timely medical intervention, her 37-week breech pregnancy with labour pain could lead to obstructed labour, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth injury, severe maternal bleeding, stillbirth, and other life-threatening complications that could endanger both the mother and her baby.

Munni Akter, a 22-year-old pregnant woman, was admitted to Narayanganj Poly Clinic General Hospital on 23-07-2026 with complaints of lower abdominal pain for 2 days at 37 weeks of pregnancy. Clinical examination and ultrasonography revealed breech presentation of the fetus with labour pain. Due to the abnormal fetal presentation and risk of complications during vaginal delivery, the treating doctors decided to perform an Emergency Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) under spinal anaesthesia. The patient underwent the procedure successfully and received necessary perioperative care, monitoring, and supportive treatment during her hospital stay. After improvement of her condition and satisfactory post-operative recovery, she was discharged from the hospital on 26-07-2026 with advice for follow-up, medication continuation, wound care, and monitoring of both maternal and newborn health.

The recommended treatment is an emergency Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) under spinal anesthesia to safely deliver the baby and prevent complications associated with the breech presentation during active labour. With timely surgery, appropriate postoperative care, and regular follow-up, Munni is expected to recover well, and both mother and baby have an excellent chance of a healthy outcome. If left untreated or if delivery is delayed, the breech presentation may lead to obstructed labour, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma, severe maternal bleeding, uterine rupture, stillbirth, or other life-threatening complications that could endanger the lives of both the mother and her baby. Early surgical intervention is essential to ensure a safe delivery and recovery.
