Ibrahim Fahim, a 10-month-old child, has been diagnosed with severe pneumonia, a serious infection affecting his lungs and making it difficult for him to breathe properly. The infection has caused fever, cough, runny nose, and worsening breathing difficulty, leaving him weak and at risk of low oxygen levels. Without prompt treatment, the infection may rapidly worsen and lead to respiratory failure, bloodstream infection (sepsis), and other life-threatening complications.

Background
Ibrahim Fahim is a precious 10-month-old baby who lives with his parents, his 6-year-old sister Nusrat Jahan, and his elderly grandparents in a struggling family of six. His father, Rajib Hossain, is the family's only earning member, working in a garment factory for just BDT 8,000 per month, which is barely enough for their basic needs and leaves them unable to afford Ibrahim's hospitalization, medicines, and emergency care. With no permanent home or savings, the family sought assistance from Helpster Charity through volunteer Masud Rana when Ibrahim developed severe breathing difficulty. Without timely treatment, severe pneumonia may rapidly worsen and cause dangerously low oxygen levels, bloodstream infection (sepsis), respiratory failure, and other life-threatening complications. Financial support is therefore essential to give Ibrahim the treatment he needs to recover safely and return home healthy to his loving family.
Medical history
Ibrahim Fahim was admitted to Narayanganj Poly Clinic General Hospital on 23/07/2026 with severe pneumonia after experiencing fever, cough, runny nose, and breathing difficulties. He received conservative treatment, including appropriate medications, supportive care, and close medical monitoring throughout his hospital stay. His condition gradually improved with treatment, and he was discharged in stable condition on 28/07/2026 with advice to continue the prescribed medications and attend follow-up visits as recommended by the doctor.
Prognosis
According to the doctor, Ibrahim requires hospitalization, antibiotic therapy, nebulization, close monitoring, and other supportive treatment to control the lung infection and improve his breathing. With timely and appropriate treatment, his oxygen level and breathing are expected to improve, allowing him to recover fully and return to normal growth and activities. If left untreated, severe pneumonia may rapidly progress to dangerously low oxygen levels, bloodstream infection (sepsis), respiratory failure, and multi-organ complications. In severe cases, these complications can become life-threatening. Early hospital treatment is therefore essential for his safe recovery.
