Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Idrisi is a 2-year-old boy, the youngest of five siblings. His dad drives a tricycle in Lagos, and his mom sells small items. About 2 years ago, they noticed that Idrisi had a strange swelling in his scrotum that would come and go, sometimes causing him pain. But because they don't have enough money, they couldn't afford the surgery. Now, he's been diagnosed with hydrocele and is waiting for free surgery from Helpster.
Medical history
Idris developed a right hydrocele about 2 years ago; he was admitted on the 6th of March and had Hydrocelectomy surgery done on the same day. He was nursed and discharged on the 9th of March with symptoms that have resolved and he left home with his parent in good health.
Prognosis
The persistent presence of a hydrocele can cause ongoing discomfort, heaviness, or a feeling of fullness in the scrotum. Although hydroceles are not typically associated with infections, untreated ones may become prone to infections, which can result in pain and complications. Larger hydroceles can interfere with activities like walking or participating in sports due to the added weight and size of the swollen scrotum. Surgical removal of the hydrocele sac is the most effective and permanent treatment for hydrocele. It is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under local or general anesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision in the scrotum, drains the fluid, and removes the sac.
