Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Dipto Biswas, a 2-month-old infant, has been diagnosed with severe pneumonia, a serious lung infection that can cause fever, cough, breathing difficulty, and reduced oxygen levels. In his case, wheezing and crepitations were present in both lungs, with an oxygen saturation of 92%, indicating respiratory involvement. At this young age, prompt medical treatment and close monitoring are important to control the infection and prevent worsening respiratory complications.

Background
Dipto Biswas is a 2-month-old baby boy from a financially disadvantaged family living in a modest tin-roofed house. His father, Shipon Biswas, is the sole earning member and works as a day laborer, earning approximately USD 41 per month, which is barely enough to meet the family’s basic needs and leaves them unable to afford Dipto’s medical expenses. Previously a healthy infant, Dipto developed cold and cough for seven days, followed by fever, breathing difficulty, and excessive crying, and was admitted to Seba Hospital on 30 July 2026 with severe pneumonia. Without timely treatment, his breathing difficulty and low oxygen level could worsen and potentially lead to serious respiratory complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Seba Hospital and volunteer Redwan, who helped them access the medical support Dipto urgently needed.
Medical history
Dipto Biswas, a 2-month-old male infant, was admitted to Seba Hospital on 30 July 2026 with severe pneumonia. He received treatment under the care of the attending doctors and nurses and was kept under close observation throughout his hospitalization. During his stay, he was provided with the necessary medicines and supportive care, and his condition gradually improved with treatment. He was discharged on 6 August 2026 with medical advice and follow-up instructions. At the time of discharge, the patient’s family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Ema and the Seba Hospital team for their support and care.
Prognosis
According to the treatment plan, hospitalization with antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and supportive care is expected to control Dipto’s severe pneumonia, improve his breathing and oxygenation, reduce fever, and support his recovery. With timely treatment and close monitoring, he is expected to stabilize and gradually return to normal feeding and activity. If left untreated, the infection may worsen rapidly in this young infant, leading to increasing respiratory distress, dangerously low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, or other serious complications.
