Background
Adedeji is a one-year-old boy, and he's the third child in a family of five. His dad works for the government, and his mom teaches at a private school. They all live together in a small rented house and are a close-knit family, but they struggle financially. After Adedeji was born, his grandmother noticed that his right testicle was missing from the scrotum. There hasn't been any pain. The doctors say he has undescended testicles, but the family can't afford the surgery. They've come to Helpster for free treatment.
Medical history
Adedeji underwent a successful orchiopexy procedure on March 4, 2024, and was discharged from the hospital in stable condition on March 9, 2024. Since then, he has resumed his normal routine, attending school in the mornings and spending afternoons with his friends. Following his treatment, Adedeji has regained his energy and enjoys being active, often seen running around with enthusiasm.
Prognosis
Treatment for undescended testis typically involves surgery, known as orchiopexy. During this procedure, a surgeon relocates the testicle from its abnormal position in the abdomen or groin into the scrotum. This helps promote normal testicular development and function. Treatment is essential to prevent long-term complications, especially if the condition is identified in early childhood.
