Meet Mohammad, an 8-month-old boy residing with his parents and grandparents in the slums of Narayanganj. Mohammad is a lively and energetic child. His father earns a living as a rickshaw puller, while his mother takes care of the household. Mohammad's grandparents are elderly and unable to work. Unfortunately, Mohammad's family lacks the financial means to afford treatment for his pneumonia.

If left untreated, pneumonia may lead to the permanent lung damage, respiratory failure, septicaemia (infection entering blood stream and causing sepsis), pleural effusion (accumulation of fluid in the space between the lung and chest wall, which can make breathing difficult), and other life-threatening complications.
