Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pulmonology
Rudro Das has been diagnosed with severe pneumonia. Severe pneumonia is a serious lung infection that can cause high fever, cough, breathing difficulty, and abnormal lung sounds due to inflammation and infection. Rudro developed fever, cold, and cough followed by respiratory distress, with wheezing and crepitations detected in both lungs. Timely hospital-based treatment and close monitoring are important to control the infection, improve breathing, and prevent progression to respiratory failure and other serious complications.

Background
Rudro Das is an 8-month-old baby boy living with his parents, Nironjon Das and Krishna Das, in a modest tin-roofed house with a mud floor. His father is the sole earning member and works as a day labourer, earning only approximately USD 49 per month, which is barely enough to meet the family’s basic needs and leaves little to afford hospital treatment. Rudro developed fever, cough, and cold followed by worsening respiratory distress and was admitted to Seba Hospital with severe pneumonia, high fever, and abnormal breathing sounds in both lungs. Without timely treatment, his respiratory distress could rapidly worsen and lead to dangerously low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, and other life-threatening complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteers Tanjila Shahin Ema and Redwan, allowing Rudro to receive the urgent medical care he needed.
Medical history
Rudro Das was admitted to Seba Hospital on 1 August 2026 at 2:20 PM with a diagnosis of severe pneumonia. He received treatment under the supervision of the medical team and was kept under close observation throughout his hospitalization. During his stay, he received medicines, supportive care, and regular monitoring from the doctors and nurses. His condition gradually improved with treatment, and he was discharged on 8 August 2026 at 4:00 PM with medical advice. At the time of discharge, the patient’s family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Ema and the Seba Hospital team.
Prognosis
According to the doctor, hospitalization with antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and supportive care is expected to control the pneumonia, reduce fever and respiratory distress, and improve Rudro’s breathing and overall condition. With timely treatment and close monitoring, he is expected to recover and gradually return to normal feeding and activity. If left untreated, severe pneumonia may worsen rapidly, causing increasing respiratory distress, low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, and potentially life-threatening complications.
