Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Tasnima Jannat has been diagnosed with severe pneumonia. Severe pneumonia is a serious infection of the lungs that can cause fever, cough, breathing difficulty, and reduced oxygen levels. In Tasnima’s case, the condition is associated with wheezing and crepitations in both lungs, a high fever of 103°F, and oxygen saturation of 88%, indicating significant respiratory involvement. At her young age, prompt treatment and close monitoring are important to improve breathing, control the infection, and prevent further complications.

Background
Tasnima Jannath is a 2-month-and-24-day-old baby girl from a financially disadvantaged family of four. Her father, Alfaj Uddin, is the sole earning member and works as a day laborer, earning approximately USD 49 per month, which is insufficient to cover the family’s basic living expenses and Tasnima’s medical costs. She lives with her parents and 3-year-old elder sister, and although she was previously well, she developed cold and cough followed by high fever, respiratory distress, and nasal blockage, and was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. With an oxygen saturation of 88% and significant respiratory findings, her condition requires timely hospital-based treatment; without appropriate care, her breathing difficulty and low oxygen level could worsen and become life-threatening. The family was first introduced to Helpster Charity through a patient who had previously received support from Helpster, giving them an opportunity to seek assistance for Tasnima’s treatment.
Medical history
Tasnima Jannat was admitted to Seba Hospital on 4 August 2026 at 4:25 PM with a diagnosis of severe pneumonia. She received treatment under the supervision of the medical team and was kept under close observation during her hospitalization. During her stay, she received medicines, supportive care, and regular monitoring from the doctors and nurses. Her condition gradually improved with treatment, and she was discharged on 12 August 2026 at 4:00 PM with medical advice. At the time of discharge, the patient’s family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Ema and the Seba Hospital team.
Prognosis
According to the doctor, hospitalization with antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and other supportive treatment is expected to control the severe pneumonia, improve breathing and oxygenation, reduce fever, and support the child’s recovery. With timely treatment and close monitoring, the child is expected to stabilize and gradually return to normal feeding and daily activities. If left untreated, the infection may worsen rapidly, causing severe respiratory distress, dangerously low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, or other life-threatening complications.
