Background
Tamim is a happy 7-year-old boy who lives with his parents and older brother. He's in the first grade and loves playing football and cricket with his friends and classmates. He enjoys visiting his relatives too. Tamim's dad is the only one who earns money for their family, but they live in a poor area and can't afford medical bills. Tamim has been dealing with a problem called Chronic Recurrent Tonsillitis, which makes him cough, gives him a sore throat, and makes it hard for him to breathe sometimes. He needs an operation to help him feel better and have a healthier life.
Medical history
Tamim was suffering from chronic recurrent tonsillitis, with his tonsils being enlarged and congested. He experienced severe sore throat, difficulty swallowing, and shortness of breath. Due to the ineffectiveness of repeated antibiotic therapy, a tonsillectomy was necessary. The surgery, performed by Dr. Khorshed Alam (ENT Specialist), was conducted under general anesthesia with all aseptic precautions, successfully removing both tonsils. Tamim is now doing well and has returned to his normal life.
Prognosis
The patient keeps getting sick with coughs, colds, sore throats, and fevers, and sometimes has trouble breathing. Their tonsils and adenoids are swollen and causing problems. If they don't have surgery to remove them (called adenotonsillectomy), they could get really bad respiratory infections that might make them sick for a long time or even cause serious health problems.
