When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

A peptic ulcer is an open sore that develops on the inner lining of the stomach (gastric ulcer) or the upper part of the small intestine, called the duodenum (duodenal ulcer). These sores happen when strong stomach acids damage the protective mucus layer of the digestive tract. Severe Pneumonia a serious lung infection where the tiny air sacs fill with large amounts of fluid or pus. It causes dangerous breathing trouble, very low oxygen levels, and high risk of vital organ failure, requiring immediate emergency medical care and hospital treatment.

Background
Beryl is the second-born in a family of five children. She is a calm and caring girl who enjoys playing volleyball and reading and dreams of becoming a doctor. She lives with both parents and her siblings in a two-room mud-walled house without electricity. Her mother is a housewife, while her father is the sole breadwinner, depending on irregular casual plumbing jobs to support the family. Beryl began feeling unwell about two days before admission. Initially, her symptoms were mild enough for her to continue attending school, but they progressively worsened. On the day of admission, she developed severe abdominal pain, cough and repeated vomiting, making it difficult to continue her usual activities. She informed her mother, who was occupied with household chores, and Beryl eventually walked to the health facility accompanied by her friends, with her mother joining her later. The family had previously learned about Helpster Charity through a neighbour whose child had received support. Following clinical assessment, Beryl was diagnosed with severe pneumonia and admitted for appropriate inpatient treatment, supportive care and close monitoring.
Medical history
BERYL WAS DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE PNEUMONIA AND PEPTIC ULCER DISEASE AND WAS MANAGED WITH ANTIBIOTICS, ANTIPYRETICS, ANTIVOMITUS, ANTIACIDS AND OTHER DRUGS AS PER THE MEDICAL REPORT. SHE RESPONDED SO WELL TO THE CARE AND MANAGEMENT THAT WAS GIVEN TO HER AND STABILIZED. SHE WAS THEN DISCHARGED HOME ON ORAL MEDICATIONS TO CONTINUE WITH AT HOME.
Prognosis
Beryl was diagnosed with severe pneumonia and peptic ulcer disease, requiring inpatient treatment and close monitoring. Severe pneumonia may compromise oxygenation and can progress to hypoxia, sepsis or respiratory failure, while peptic ulcer disease may cause significant abdominal pain, vomiting and, in complicated cases, gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation. She requires appropriate antibiotics, supportive care and treatment to reduce gastric acidity and promote ulcer healing. The prognosis is good and Beryl will make a full recovery
