Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pulmonology
Pneumonia develops when the defensive mechanisms within the lung become overwhelmed by a pathogen which has been either inhaled or aspirated. It is associated with a high mortality rate and significant morbidity. Severe pneumonia is frequently a multisystem disease and patients will often present with multiple organ failure.

Background
Mohammad is a 5 month boy who is living happily with his parents in a tin shedded house in the slums of Naranganj. He was born by Caesarean section in a hospital far from Narayanganj. His father is the only earning member in his family. Mohammad has been suffering from recurrent respiratory tract infection since birth. He is also malnourished. This time he has severe Pneumonia which is life-threatening. The family is very poor and is seeking help from Helpster Charity donors.
Medical history
Since birth, Mohammad has battled recurrent respiratory tract infections, often resorting to antibiotics to alleviate his symptoms. However, his most recent bout escalated into severe pneumonia, marked by debilitating symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough, cold, and fever, necessitating urgent hospitalization. Under careful medical supervision, Mohammad underwent oxygen therapy, nebulization with salbutamol, ipratropium bromide, and budesonide, and received injectable antibiotics to combat the severity of his condition. Thankfully, after receiving proper treatment, Mohammad's health improved significantly, allowing him to return home. Days later, Masud, the Hospital Manager, paid a visit to Mohammad's family, who were overjoyed to see him. Mohammad himself was in good spirits, grateful for his recovery. Mohammad's Father, Md.Alak, "We were lucky to see the poster about Helpster Charity and Narayanganj Polyclinic. At that time we were desparate as we couldn't find good treatment for our son, and had no money to cover expensive treatment in other hospitals. Government hospitals were overcrowded, with the shortage in medicines. Thank you Helpster Charity and Narayanganj Polyclinic Team!"
Prognosis
Pneumonia should be treated with antibiotics. If left untreated, pneumonia may lead to the permanent lung damage, respiratory failure, septicaemia (infection entering blood stream and causing sepsis), pleural effusion (accumulation of fluid in the space between the lung and chest wall, which can make breathing difficult), and other life-threatening complications.
