Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Moh'd is a 17-year-old who's a bit shy. He enjoys playing soccer and dreams of becoming a famous soccer player. About 4 years ago, his parents noticed a small swelling in his scrotum that's now getting bigger. Sometimes it causes him pain and discomfort. But because his family can't afford treatment, they brought him to this hospital for help. The doctors found out he has hydrocele and he's waiting for free surgery from Helpster.

Medical history

A vivacious child who was presented to UMD Medical clinic with the history of scrotal swelling, feeling of heaviness and intermittent pain.He is the third born of family of 5 from poor home but the family is working hard to make ends meet. He was Clinically evaluated and was diagnosed of Hydrocele.Had a successful surgery on 2/3/24,a procedure called Hydrocelectomy.Post operative medication, wound care and other management sustained.Patient was discharged home on 5/3/24. The child is feeling better now and the parent are happy because their child is no longer complaining of pain.

Prognosis

The persistent presence of a hydrocele can cause ongoing discomfort, heaviness, or a feeling of fullness in the scrotum. Although hydroceles are not typically associated with infections, untreated ones may become prone to infections, which can result in pain and complications. Larger hydroceles can interfere with activities like walking or participating in sports due to the added weight and size of the swollen scrotum. Surgical removal of the hydrocele sac is the most effective and permanent treatment for hydrocele. It is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under local or general anesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision in the scrotum, drains the fluid, and removes the sac.
