Raisa Jannat has been diagnosed with severe pneumonia. Severe pneumonia is a serious infection of the lungs that can cause high fever, cough, breathing difficulty, and dangerously low oxygen levels. In Raisa’s case, she presented with a temperature of 102°F, oxygen saturation of 88%, and a rapid pulse of 155 beats per minute, indicating significant respiratory compromise. Urgent hospital-based treatment, close monitoring, and respiratory support are important to improve her condition and prevent life-threatening complications.

Background
Raisa Jannat is a 16-month-old girl who lives with her parents, Abdul Mukit and Minara Begum, and her 4-year-old sister, Taiba Jannat. Her father is the sole earner, working as a day labourer and earning only approximately USD 49 per month, which is mainly spent on food and other basic needs, leaving the family unable to afford Raisa’s medical expenses. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteers Tanjila Shahin Ema and Redwan when Raisa developed fever, cough, and worsening breathing difficulty. She was admitted to Seba Hospital with severe pneumonia, a temperature of 102°F and oxygen saturation of only 88%, requiring urgent treatment. Without timely medical care, her severe breathing difficulty and low oxygen level could rapidly worsen, potentially leading to respiratory failure and other life-threatening complications.
Medical history
Raisa Jannat was admitted to Seba Hospital on 13 August 2026 at 11:45 AM with severe pneumonia. She had been experiencing fever, cold, and cough for several days, followed by difficulty breathing. During her hospitalization, she remained under the care and close observation of the doctors and nurses. She received medicines, supportive care, and regular monitoring to manage her condition and support her recovery. Her condition gradually improved with treatment, and she was discharged on 20 August 2026 at 4:00 PM with medical advice. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster Charity for supporting Raisa’s treatment and to the Seba Hospital medical team for caring for her during her hospital stay.
Prognosis
According to the doctor, hospitalization with antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and supportive care is expected to control the infection, improve Raisa’s breathing, and restore her oxygen level and overall condition. With timely treatment and close monitoring, she is expected to recover and gradually return to normal feeding and activity. If left untreated, severe pneumonia may cause worsening respiratory distress and dangerously low oxygen levels, which can progress to respiratory failure, sepsis, and other life-threatening complications.
