Background
Sanda is an 11-year-old girl who lives with her mother. She enjoys singing and dancing, and she dreams of becoming a nurse when she grows up. Recently, she's been feeling unwell, complaining of pain when peeing, headaches, fevers, and coughing. Her mother took her to the facility where the doctor checked her and sent her to the lab for more tests. Later, she was admitted to the ward for further evaluation and treatment.
Medical history
Recently, Sandra has been feeling unwell, complaining of pain when passing urine, headaches, fevers, and coughing. Her mother took her to the facility where the doctor checked her and sent her to the lab for more tests. Later, she was admitted to the ward for further evaluation and treatment. While in the ward she was given intravenous fluids and antibiotics. She improved and was discharged on oral medication, to take oral medication for three more days while at home. She was reviewed a few days after discharge and it was confirmed that she has healed.
Prognosis
The urinary tract infection should be treated immediately, since it may spread onto kidneys, if left untreated. It will also keep causing pain and discomfort if the treatment is not received.
