Ayodele Michael O., 12

Michael is the first child of his mother and comes from a polygamous family. His mother is the second wife and has three children. His mother sells provisions, and his father is a policeman. Michael is a well-behaved boy with leadership qualities, and his dream is to become a teacher. He was apparently well until eleven months ago when he was noticed to have developed a swelling in his scrotal sac. The swelling has been coming and going and is associated with intermittent pain. He was diagnosed with hydrocele.

Ayodele was presented with scrotal swelling; he was examined and diagnosed with Hydrocele. upon approval, he was admitted, and the Hydrocelectomy was done successfully. When he recovered, he was discharged home and his parents were thankful to Helpster.

The persistent presence of a hydrocele can cause ongoing discomfort, heaviness, or a feeling of fullness in the scrotum. Although hydroceles are not typically associated with infections, untreated ones may become prone to infections, which can result in pain and complications. Larger hydroceles can interfere with activities like walking or participating in sports due to the added weight and size of the swollen scrotum. Surgical removal of the hydrocele sac is the most effective and permanent treatment for hydrocele. It is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under local or general anesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision in the scrotum, drains the fluid, and removes the sac.
