Background
Saleh is a six year old playful boy from a poor family. He loves to play with his toys and run around with other children. In the future he dreams of becoming a pilot. Saleh was healthy until he was two years old. At that age, he developed a swelling of his scrotum, which was small at first, but has now become larger. He experiences pain and a feeling of heaviness in his scrotum. Saleh was examined and diagnosed with a hydrocele.

Saleh was healthy until he was two years old. At that age, he developed a swelling of his scrotum, which was small at first, but has now become larger. He experiences pain and a feeling of heaviness in his scrotum. Saleh was examined and diagnosed with a hydrocele. He underwent successful surgery on 23/3/24 and was discharged on 26/3/24. The parent are happy
Prognosis
The persistent presence of a hydrocele can cause ongoing discomfort, heaviness, or a feeling of fullness in the scrotum. Although hydroceles are not typically associated with infections, untreated ones may become prone to infections, which can result in pain and complications. Larger hydroceles can interfere with activities like walking or participating in sports due to the added weight and size of the swollen scrotum. Surgical removal of the hydrocele sac is the most effective and permanent treatment for hydrocele. It is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under local or general anesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision in the scrotum, drains the fluid, and removes the sac.
