Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Yusuf is a 8 y.o. boy, a primary 2 student in a public school who lives with his relatives in a 4-room house. Yusuf stays in a room with the other 9 kids. He likes sweets and chocolates and also, he likes riding a bicycle, playing with toys, and playing soccer. The boy is suffering from plasmodiasis and enteric fever. His family has no source of income that could cover his medical expenses. Prior to presentation to UMD Hospital and Helpster Charity the boy was taken to a traditional herbalist and received some medication due to paucity of fund but proved futile as the condition isn’t improving.
Medical history
The child was admitted on the 17th of May 2023, and treated for acute Malaria and Typhoid fever and later discharged on the 22nd of May.
Prognosis
The patient was presented to our facility with fever, fatigue, vomiting, dizziness, anorexia and a headache. The patient was diagnosed with Acute Plasmodiasis and Enteric Fever. If not treated immediately, can lead to life threatening complications.
