Mohammad is a nine-year-old boy living with his parents and brother in a tin sheet house close to Narayanganj. Their family relies on his father, who works as a hawker and earns very little. Mohammad has been suffering from Chronic and Recurrent Tonsillitis, which has been significantly impacting his quality of life. Despite multiple courses of antibiotics, his condition continued to worsen. Eventually, he required a Tonsillectomy operation, but his family couldn't afford the treatment. Recently, they learned about Helpster and Polyclinic, turning to Helpster Charity donors for support. Despite his chronic infection, Mohammad still manages to smile.

Mohammad was diagnosed with Chronic Tonsillitis. His tonsils were enlarged and congested, causing him severe sore throat and difficulty in swallowing, along with occasional shortness of breath. Due to the failure of repeated antibiotic treatments and conservative management, a tonsillectomy surgery became necessary. The surgery was performed by Dr. Jahangir Alam, an ENT specialist. With all the necessary aseptic precautions and under general anesthesia, both of Mohammad's tonsils were removed surgically, resulting in a successful operation. Mohammad has since recovered and returned to his normal life. Mohammad's family is grateful to Helpster Heroes and Narayanganj Polyclinic!

An adenotonsillectomy is a medical procedure in which both the adenoids and tonsils are surgically removed. The adenoids are small glands located at the back of the throat, while the tonsils are situated on either side of the throat.
