Stephen is a 17-year-old boy from a poor family. He's the third of six siblings, and they all live together in a rented two-bedroom apartment. His mother sells small items to make a living. Larger hydroceles can interfere with activities like walking or participating in sports due to the added weight and size of the swollen scrotum. Surgical removal of the hydrocele sac is the most effective and permanent treatment for hydrocele. It is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under local or general anesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision in the scrotum, drains the fluid, and removes the sac.
