Evam was diagnosed with Septicemia and Laryngitis. Septicemia, also known as sepsis, is a serious medical condition that occurs when the body has an overwhelming immune response to an infection. It happens when bacteria or other pathogens enter the bloodstream, spreading throughout the body and causing widespread inflammation. This can lead to a cascade of harmful effects, including organ damage and failure. Laryngitis is inflammation of the laryngeal mucosa, typically caused by viruses. Key symptoms include hoarseness, pain and discomfort when swallowing, as well as cough, which can be dry or productive.

Background
Evan is a lively one-year-old boy who enjoys eating mashed cooked bananas. His mother brought him to the hospital due to a persistent cough accompanied by a running nose for the past few days. The day before his hospital visit, Evan developed nasal congestion, which was now affecting his breathing. Additionally, he had a fever and loss of appetite.
Medical history
Evans had a cough, flu, fever, and loss of appetite. His temperature was normal, and he had no trouble breathing. The throat was however quite inflamed, but other examinations were normal. Lab tests showed no malaria, and the white blood cell count was markedly high. The patient received antibiotic injections for three days, followed by oral antibiotics for five days, along with painkillers and antihistamines for relief. He progressed well to recovery. A visit to their home by the volunteer confirmed that Evans was doing well and had been healed from the cough and feve
Prognosis
The widespread inflammation and organ damage caused by septicemia can result in dysfunction or failure of multiple organs, such as the lungs, kidneys, liver, and heart, if not treated. Broad-spectrum antibiotics are administered intravenously as soon as possible to fight the infection causing the septicemia. Laryngitis can lead to a condition in which the airways narrow due to inflammation of the mucous membrane, resulting in difficulty breathing and a cough with a distinctive sound.
