Lorine is a one-year-old cheerful girl from a poor family of four. Her father works as a bike taxi driver, while her mother is a housewife. Lorine, an active and jovial child, enjoys drawing. Her parents dream of her becoming an engineer when she grows up. At the age of four months, Lorine was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when her mother noticed delayed milestones and sought assessment at the government hospital. Over the past four months, Lorine's mother observed pitting edema on both legs and a loss of appetite in Lorine. Concerned, she brought Lorine to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with protein-energy malnutrition.

Lorine had generalized body weakness, vomiting ,poor appetite, delayed milestone ,cough, wasted and bilateral pitting edema this let nutritionist to assess child's health the girl had protein energy malnutrition and later referred the client to doctor for further check up and doctor diagnosed lo Lorine with cerebral palsy and was adviced to go and see occupation therapist for further check up Lorine was managed well for the protein energy malnutrition and is currently on follow up by the occupational therapist for the cerebral palsy

Malnutrition can stunt growth and development in children, leading to long-term physical and cognitive deficits. Severe malnutrition can lead to dysfunction of vital organs such as the heart, liver, and kidneys, which can be life-threatening. Malnutrition is typically treated by addressing both the immediate nutritional needs of the individual and the underlying causes of malnutrition.
