Hafsat L., 18

Hafsat is an eighteen-year-old girl and the second child out of eighteen children of her late father. She graduated from Government Secondary School in 2018. Hafsat sews caps to support herself financially. She was apparently well until one week ago when she developed a fever, headache and vaginal itching. Upon learning about Helpster, she came to Nakowa Hospital seeking medical assistance.

Hafsat Lawan, a young girl diagnosed with Malaria and a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI), received prompt and effective treatment that led to her successful recovery. After being diagnosed with these conditions, Hafsat was prescribed a series of medications tailored to combat both the Malaria and the STI, which were administered over the course of several weeks. The treatment regimen included antimalarial drugs and antibiotics, which, thanks to their efficacy and the close monitoring of her health, managed to eradicate the infections completely. Hafsat’s condition improved significantly, and she has now returned to her normal activities with renewed vigor and health. Her parent expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “We are very thankful to Helpster charity for their support and the medicines that helped Hafsat get better. We are so grateful for your help.”

Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences.
