Aisha is diagnosed with Malaria, Gastroenteritis, Enteric fever and Acute Respiratory Tract Infection. Malaria is a potentially life-threatening infectious disease caused by parasites transmitted to humans through the bite of infected female mosquitoes. The infection causes recurrent cycles of symptoms, including high fever, chills, fatigue, and, in severe cases, organ damage or failure.This stage of the disease is defined by the evidence of vital organ dysfunction. Gastroenteritis is the inflammation of the stomach and intestines, typically resulting from bacterial toxins or viral infection and causing vomiting and diarrhoea.

Background
Aisha, a 4-year-old girl and the third of six siblings, often accompanies her mother to work and plays with friends by the Lagos Street river in the evenings. She was healthy until three days ago when she developed a nighttime fever, cough, diarrhea, runny nose, chest heaviness, sleepless nights, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Her parents brought her to Nakowa Clinic, seeking free medical treatment through Helpster. After examination and lab tests, she was diagnosed with malaria, enteric fever, gastroenteritis, and an acute respiratory tract infection.
Medical history
Aisha Ali, a 4-year-old girl, was diagnosed with Malaria, Gastroenteritis, Enteric Fever, and an Acute Respiratory Tract Infection after falling gravely ill. Her parents, deeply worried, and after hearing about Helpster took her to Nakowa Specialist Hospital, where doctors immediately began treatment to stabilize her condition. Aisha was given antibiotics, and other necessary medications to fight the multiple infections attacking her small body. After careful monitoring and treatment, Aisha’s health gradually improved—her fever dropped, her breathing eased, and she regained her strength. Her parents were overwhelmed with gratitude towards Helpster Charity for giving their daughter a second chance at life, ensuring her full recovery without the weight of financial stress.
Prognosis
Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences. Gastroenteritis can cause significant loss of fluids and electrolytes through vomiting and diarrhea. Without proper treatment, dehydration can become severe and require urgent medical attention.
