Beverlyne was diagnosed with Severe malaria and Gastritis. Severe malaria occurs when infections are complicated by serious organ failures or abnormalities in the patient's blood or metabolism. Gastritis is an inflammation of the lining of the stomach. The inflammation of gastritis is most often the result of infection with the same bacterium that causes most stomach ulcers or the regular use of certain pain relievers. The condition is associated with the acute pain.

Background
Beverlyne has a passion for dancing. She is a caring individual and holds the third position among four siblings. Whenever she is home, she cherishes spending time with her younger brother. Beverlyne is diligent and aspires to become a medical doctor in the future. Recently, Beverlyne has been experiencing vomiting for the past couple of days. Initially occasional, it has now become persistent after every meal. She also complains of pain in the epigastric region, accompanied by general body malaise. On the day she was admitted to the hospital, she presented with a cough, evident pain, and weakness.
Medical history
Beverlyne presented to the hospital with vomiting, cough, epigastric pain and general body malaise. She was quite unwell and was also dehydrated Laboratory investigations were done and she was put on medication Beverlyne is doing well. She came for review at the hospital 2 weeks after the discharge date and was confirmed to be well. The epigastric pain is also gone, no general body malaise and is as playful as before
Prognosis
Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences. Untreated gastritis can lead to erosion of the mucosal lining, increasing the risk of developing ulcers and even gastric bleeding, which poses a serious health risk.
